Aces for Access co-founders Prathik Amathi and Jashwin Pisini made the trip out to Scarborough East to pick up the donation in person, and met the team who made it happen.
Earlier this month, Prathik Amathi and Jashwin Pisini connected with the team at Scarborough East Tennis & Fitness Club about donating used tennis balls for our upcoming clinics. Jacqueline Boggs and the rest of the staff there didn't hesitate. They pulled together 2,500 balls from around their courts and had them ready and waiting.
That single donation puts us leaps ahead of where we expected to be at this stage. It means every kid who shows up to one of our first clinics will have plenty of balls to rally with, without us having to stretch our budget to cover it. It's the kind of support that turns a plan on paper into something real.
We're grateful to Scarborough East for trusting a brand new nonprofit and for being the first club to step up as an equipment partner. If you run a club, academy, or program and have gear sitting around, we would love to talk with you too.
Every racket, ball, and hour of court time gets us closer to our first free clinics in Columbus. Whether you can donate gear, volunteer your time, or just spread the word, it all helps.
